The amount of Fork Sox tapering at the fork tip is minimal due to a lack of fork standards. There are generalities such as forks up to 2½" thick have tips of 3/8", 2½" to 3"- ¾", 4" to 5" - 1" and so on.
As to tapers, again no hard and fast rule, standard tapers are generally 2/3 the full blade thickness, tapering to the fork tip. Common are two stage tapers on 6' & 8' long forks sometimes referred to as "Lumber Tapers". Typically, 10% of the length from the heel is full thickness and the last 20% of the length is tapered from the tip to 50% of the fork thickness.
