Load Backrest extensions are required when:
1910.178(e)(2) If the type of load presents a hazard, the user shall equip fork trucks with a vertical load backrest extension manufactured in accordance with paragraph (a) (2) of this section.
Compliance is more cost effective than not. Consider our Load Backrest Extensions if your existing ones don't reach the height needed to protect the operator, or if you have short loads we can make you a unit that meets the requirements but not interfere with other operations of the forklift.
