1.The tapered and offset tips are designed for easier entry into small skids.2. The polyurethane backing is to protect the steel sheets from indentations, which could cause the forming machine to jam up and stop. The "slide in" polyurethane backing on the upright is removable and can also be supplied in neoprene.
