Peek A Boo Forks

by Ken Welch on 2007-04-03 15:15:50 - Email This

Peek A Boo forks have been developed primarily to increase the visibility of the forklift driver. Reducing the shank width is possible because the stress exerted on the fork, while lifting, diminishes gradually as one progresses towards the top of the shank. All requests for Peek A Boo forks must be confirmed with Manufacturer’s Engineering staff, as the cut out will be dependent on the load.

This type of fork is usually wide, with a blade less than 2” (50mm) thick and used predominantly in the lumber industry. Many times it’s desirable to get wide thin forks that can handle heavy loads usually at the sacrifice of forward visibility thru the carriage; this design opportunity is win-win.
